Austpower Engineering's capability to conduct in service
inspections were scrutinised by both Pacific Power and
the University of NSW in 1995. These groups analysed
our survey techniques and results over the five previous
years (1990 - 1995). The results of the analysis showed
that Austpower Engineering services were accurate and
repeatable. The information gathered from the inspection
analysis was used by the academic group, to develop a
program that could predict tube life, based on shape and
depth of erosion. This has now been further developed
and is widely used throughout the Power industry.

Austpower Engineering has conducted a large percentage of inspections in all states of Australia as part of the Power Industry's coordinated maintenance outages. These inspections have resulted in a dramatic reduction in failures within the industry.
